Meet Our Leadership Team
Our team of leaders volunteer their time to oversee the ministry and mission of Agape Center Lynchburg.

Director
Debby Kountz
DEBBY is the heart and leadership behind Agape Center Lynchburg! Her commitment to the community and those who are hurting and in need are truly inspiring.

Originally from Silver Spring, MD, Debby moved to Lynchburg in 1995 and became part of the Agape team in the summer of 2018. After a few years of dedicated service overseeing the food pantries, she transitioned into the Director position in 2022.

Debby is married to Dave, mom to four adult children, and Nona to five precious grandkids. When she’s not pouring her energy into Agape’s mission, she loves spending time with her family, reading, cooking up new recipes, and—of course—watching football. A die-hard Washington Commanders fan, her passion for the game runs deep!

Assistant Director
Ann Chafin
Ann, a retired elementary school teacher, has dedicated her life to serving others and sharing the love of Christ with those in need.
Six years ago, Ann felt a strong calling from the Lord to help the lost and needy in her community. This calling led her to the Agape Center in Moneta, where she and her husband, Tom, began their journey of service and compassion.

Ann’s heart has always been with those less fortunate, inspired by the teachings of Jesus about loving and caring for the poor and needy. As a volunteer at Agape Center Lynchburg, she is honored to play a role in an organization that not only meets physical needs but also shares the Gospel with every client, in word or deed, who walks through the door.

For Ann, the Agape Center is more than a place of service—it’s a family. She is deeply grateful for the love, support, and unity among the staff, volunteers, and clients. Her mission is to continue spreading hope and embodying Christ’s teachings through the work of the Agape Center.

Assistant Director
Dixie Brammer
Originally from Wisconsin, Dixie Brammer brings a heart for service and a deep commitment to her role as Assistant Director of Agape Center Lynchburg. As a wife and mother of two, Dixie understands the importance of building strong communities and showing Christ’s love in practical ways.

For the past four years, Dixie has been an integral part of the Agape team, dedicating her time and energy to helping those in need. One of her greatest joys is witnessing the "God stories" that unfold each week—testimonies of how God is moving powerfully in the lives of both clients and volunteers.

Dixie’s leadership and dedication inspire others to serve, and she is passionate about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Whether overseeing our housewares department, training new volunteers, or greeting donors with a smile, she considers it a privilege to be part of an organization that shines God’s light into the community.
